We figure that not all posts need to be discussion items as some things are just too interesting to post in that fashion. This is one of those posts.
Our baby is drooling. A lot. So much that she went through three changes of clothes today. So much that daycare actually had to loan us a onesie because we didn’t pack enough. So much so that she isn’t as upset about the initial plunge into bath water as she used to be.
When I put the baby on my shoulder, my shoulder is wet. When she looks the other way, my chest is wet. When I left for work today, the bottom of my shirt was covered in drool because she sat on my lap playing the kicking game while mom got ready. Did I change it? Hmmmm. Sure I did. Come on, it was just an undershirt (at least today it was).
I heard babies drool because they’re starting to teeth. I also heard that I’ll know when it’s really teething time because the drool I experienced before really isn’t drool. So if she’s not teething, MY GOSH I can’t imagine how much drool teething brings. She’s not crying yet. She must not be teething.
Baby also loves to put her hands in her mouth. Not fingers. Full hand. And she likes to switch, wiping her wet (and not like tiny wet, like dripping wet similar to the dog above) hand on her face, her shirt, your shirt, the couch, the swing…you get the point.
I guess it’s better than spit up. I mean, if she spits up, I really don’t have a choice in changing my shirt in the morning. Or do I….

LOL she is absolutely teething
although it may take a while before anything pops out. Arm yourselves with Hylands Teething Tablets and Tylenol/Orajel. I used to put an ice cube in a mesh teether for Peri before she was onto solids and she loved it. Itches the gums while numbing them without freezing her poor hand.
I have come home after a long day out to realize I had some of Peri’s breakfast down the side of my shirt.
You might want to try keeping a bib on her instead of having to change her so much. Thats what we did with Peri and what all the kids do in our classes that are teething. So much easier to swap a bib than a onsie.
Now that you are a parent, it would be weird if you had clean clothes when you left the house every day
Love the product suggestions. Keep em coming as I’m sure we’ll need come teething time. Just when we get used to sleeping some…
